GMB Multi-purpose Trail,
Part 1: installed 2025
Part 2: coming soon in 2026!
Approved by City Council
My husband and I go on long walks almost every day.
I am so proud of the work we did to bring walkability to Pepper Pike. This was a big change for our Community. It required listening to all sides in order to get buy in from the residents. No major change like this will have 100% agreement but I think our Council did everything possible to listen to each of our neighbors concerns. And we did our best to bring the best possible paths and trails/sidewalks to our Community. Our family uses them every day!

Pg. 3 - Oct. 25, 2023 - William Thompson of Providence Avenue believes Mr. Naft should have handouts for everyone at the meeting so they can all follow along with his comments. Mr. Thompson replied to Mr. Naft’s concerns about walkability and discussed other walkability issues. Mr. Thompson said there has been transparency from all of the Council candidates to adhere to the results of the referendum, and he would like to hear from the current Council members who are not running for reelection this year. Mr. Newell said he will vote the same as the referendum results. Ms. Zatroch said she will do the same. Dr. Hwang said she will also vote with the referendum results.

Remember when GMB used to flood and strand motorists in 2020?
That doesn't happen anymore thanks to our efforts with NEORSD!
No Flooding! and GMB multi-use trail could be constructed safely!
I would like to see a 5 year Master plan for sewer conversions so residents can PLAN for these expenses. I know how hard it can be for residents to convert from septic to sewer. My street, Gates Mills Blvd, was one of the first ones converted. We paid over $40k for our conversion and we were already on sewer. Unfortunately, we had neighbors that struggled with paying for the conversion and some even moved.
I hope the City can do more to help our residents with these conversions-- cap/limit the main sewer line cost, waive the tap in fee, and consider 0% interest loans for those residents in need, or at least help them plan by giving the residents a long range plan.
I want every resident to be informed and have the opportunity to participate in our meetings. I have worked tirelessly to bring Council meetings to your living room. The only reason Council meetings are Live-streamed is because of my efforts.
This has not been easy! My efforts have not had the support of City leadership and I am going to continue working to allow you to participate in the meetings remotely. In addition I hope to make Committee meetings live-streamed as well.
I am also working to make the City website more user-friendly so documents and summaries of meetings are easily accessible. Again this has met resistance with top leadership but I think it's important for you. In the meantime I will continue summaries of Council meetings on my Blog

I am committed to Pepper Pike's safety by strengthening our police force.
Just this past year I have voted to renew our contracts with Axon for updated police body cams, purchased 2 new police vehicles, and added to our police force!
In the Spring of 2026 we will have 20 fully trained police officers on the force (up from 17 just 4 years ago) :)

Add Live-streaming of Committee meetings and add virtual interaction during Council and Committee meetings

Work with website vendor to add more capability to the City website to make it easier to find agendas, documents, and council minutes and meetings

Improve ADA access to the FRONT of City Hall. Everyone should have access to City Hall through the front door.

Continue to improve safe walkability in Pepper Pike by exploring options to add more trails while keeping in mind fiscal responsibility

Continue to evaluate City Safety and add Police presence and surveillance. Keep speed limits enforced on streets and trails (especially with e-bikes)

Continue to improve our infrastructure including addressing flooding issues as well as help residents more with sewer conversions

I am committed to listening to residents to see what services they would like to see from our City. Recently while going door to door residents have been asking about leaf pickup, a dog park, and other amenities that may be a great addition to our City. Please contact me with what you would like to see!

Host events that bring our residents together and build a strong, positive Community :) and continue moving Pepper Pike into the future together!
